As a young man in San Francisco, Kevin’s first foray into barbering came through cutting his own hair. He eventually doubled down on that passion by moving to NYC and formally enrolling at the Tribeca Barber and Beauty School. Kevin is deeply spiritual and believes that cutting hair allows him to form genuine connections with people. He loves to engage with his customers, learn about their lives, and then make them walk out looking and feeling their best. Kevin is skilled across the full styling spectrum, capable of delivering top-quality scissor cuts, fades, tapers and combovers. Outside of Trim & Proper, Kevin loves to read history, play guitar, learn Spanish and snowboard. He is also a proud man of faith who dedicates a significant amount of time to divinity studies and his church.

Alexes began cutting at the age of 13 in her aunt’s bathroom. What started out as volunteering to help with line ups ultimately changed her life. Finding something she enjoyed, she continued cutting hair for her family members. Although she was a full time student, she also became a full time barber, building a clientele with the students of SUNY Brockport, eventually making a name for herself and creating her own business. During the pandemic, she became a mobile barber, consisting of word of mouth and marketing. She believes that barbering is more than the job description. She enjoys beyond what the job entails, which includes containing a sense of community, developing personal relationships, as well as being an overall form of expression…her own personal therapy. She aims to further evolve her career as a barber in addition to expanding her clientele from different backgrounds and hopes to continue providing clients the experience of a lifetime.
